چکیده

The ever fast growing information technology is enabling a re-definition of the early stages of aircraft design which have been restricted to mostly statistical and empirical approaches because of lengthy and costly simulation times. A novel framework is being developed at Linköping University offering greater comprehension by enabling a holistic view of the aircraft systems with a multidisciplinary analysis approach, involving a centralized easy to use interface. This paper will depict the modules involving an aerodynamic panel code solver integrated to a parametric CAD model. The connection between these tools is made fully automatic, meaning that any modification on the CAD model will with a press of button be aerodynamically analyzed in the panel solver, including re-meshing and rewriting of a input file and finally re-distributing the output file to all other modules involved in the framework.

Numerical and Neural Network Modeling and control of an Aircraft Propeller

In this paper, parametric and numerical model of the DC motor, connected to aircraft propellers are extracted. This model is required for controlling trust and velocity of the propellers, and consequently, an aircraft. As a result, both of torque and speed of the propeller can be controlled simultaneously which increases the kinematic and kinetic performance of the aircraft. Parametric model of...

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF MAVs FLAPPING WINGS IN UNSTEADY CONDITIONS

Today, Flapping Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAV) are used in many different applications. Reynolds Number for this kind of aerial vehicle is about 104 ~ 105 which shows dominancy of inertial effects in comparison of viscous effects in flow field except adjacent of the solid boundaries. Due to periodic flapping stroke, fluid flow is unsteady. In addition, these creatures have some complexities in kin...

Introduse and Need Assessment of Regional Aircrafts by Software and Modeling

An analysis was conducted to examine the market visibility of small aircraft as a transportation mode in competition with automobile and scheduled commercial air travel by estimating the pool of users that would potentially switch on-demand air travel due to cost/time saving. These new aircraft greatly increase the practicality of regional aircraft as a transportation mode that can avoid the co...

Robustness Analysis Applied to Autopilot DesignPart

In this contribution the automated generation of LFT-based parametric uncertainty descriptions from a generic nonlinear aircraft-dynamics model, as used for the GARTEUR RCAM Design Challenge on Robust Flight Control, is described. For this purpose an object-oriented, equation-based modeling approach using the modeling environment Dy-mola was applied. Using this technique allows the modeling of ...

3D stochastic rock fracture modeling related to strike-slip faults

Fault zones and fault-related fracture systems control the mechanical behaviors and fluid-flow properties of the Earth’s crust. Furthermore, nowadays, modeling is being increasingly used in order to understand the behavior of rock masses, and to determine their characteristics. In this work, fault zones and fracture patterns are reviewed, and also comprehensive studies are carried out on the fr...
